Welcome to the Minneapolis Plumbers Apprenticeship Program. Our apprenticeship program is one of the largest in the United States. The Minneapolis Plumbers Apprenticeship Program has been training people to become quality, licensed plumbers for over 90 years at the Dunwoody location. With the continued growth in the industry, our members built a state of the art Plumbing Technology building on the Dunwoody campus in 2000 and added an additional program in St Cloud at the St. Cloud Technical College in 1998.

We have over 45 instructors that teach at this location or at our program in St Cloud at the St Cloud Technical College.

The plumbing industry is strong and expanding. Many people think of plumbing as fixing a clogged sink or a toilet that won’t stop running. Did you know that plumbers do all the medical gas installation in hospitals, clinics and dialysis units? They work in new residential and commercial construction, remodeling and updating plumbing in existing buildings or service work to fix what might not be working correctly. A plumber is a highly skilled person that takes great pride in the work done.

How it works

The apprenticeship program consists of 8,780 hours of on the job experience and a minimum of 1,080 hours of related classroom training over a five year period.
